Verizon Brings Free Wi-Fi to Millions of Broadband Customers ... well not exaclty. No Wi-Fi for non-Windows users.
After purchasing a broadband account with free Wi-Fi, to enable the Verizon Wi-Fi you will need to install the client onto a Windows OS. Using a Windows XP virtual machine worked to be able to create your Wi-Fi ID, at www.verizon.net/wifi
The hotspots are possibly managed by Boingo Wi-Fi Access which can be connected to using wicd.
I've installed wicd "sudo apt-get install wicd" and will try to connect with my 64bit Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" to a Verizon Wi-Fi spot.
